Exams
We are extremely proud of our Year 11 students. In a year where grades return to where they had been pre-pandemic levels, they have achieved some fantastic results. We wish them all the best in the next chapter of their lives.
Below are important dates regarding mock exams and events taking place for Key Stage 4 students.
In October there will be a Year 11 Careers & Exams Evening. This runs through how exams in school are conducted. Alongside this we host an event for our local colleges who come in to allow you to speak to someone about your next steps.
In November Year 11s have full subject mocks. This takes place over two weeks, starting 18th November through to 28th November 2024. It is quite busy and full on in some cases, but it helps to allow you to manage your time and prioritise revision ready for the final exams in the Summer.
In March there is a final set of core subject mocks for Year 11. Again, use the opportunity to structure your revision, revisit anything that you are not sure of and reaffirm what you already know. Your teachers are there to support you so if you aren’t sure of anything, you must ask!
Year 11 PGL revision weekend will be 11th - 13th October 2024.
Year 10 Mocks. These will be 28th April through to 7th May 2025. For most subjects this will be a shortened version of an exam paper.

Each year, TMBS provides Year 11 students with a full range of additional revision and intervention sessions to support and guide them to success in KS4. Different subject areas will have different focuses in their timetabled sessions, with some of these being at lunch and a number after school, to allow for students to work around their other commitments.
We understand that this can be a stressful time for students and parents and at TMBS we want to provide students with every opportunity to be supported in their revision and preparation for examinations and feel that providing students with regular sessions is key in this.
Students have been given information about the importance of retrieval practice, which is key in supporting them in moving knowledge into their long term memories and driving success in exams and lifelong learning.
We have seen the impact that regular attendance to these sessions has on overall attainment but does rely on students taking responsibility for attending and parents supporting and guiding in this.
The Revision/Intervention Timetable runs from 18th September to 17th November (8 weeks) and 26th February to 8th May (9 weeks). From January - February there will be a focus on NEA completion and intervention for subjects that have those requirements. The timetable can be found below.
